When I want to compose an email, all I get is a place for the addresses, the subject title line and the send button, but no body to write my email. This has been happening for the last few days. What's wrong?
Why is there no email body to write on whenever I want to compose an email?
I鈥檓 sorry to hear about your problems. In my experience, when this happens, there are several things you can try. Please try these recommendations in good faith and as completely as possible.
MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING A SUPPORTED BROWSER
If you are using an older browser, you can fix this by upgrading to the latest version. You will want to review the Yahoo! Help page below for the list of current browsers:

COMPLETELY DISABLE ANTIVIRUS/ANTISPY/FIREWALL PRODUCTS
In the never ending search for security, software security products (antivirus/antispy/firewall) have a way of sometimes disabling the very things we need. This includes scripting and applets that may be used on the web. To determine if this is the case in this situation, make sure you temporarily and completely disable your software security products. If you aren鈥檛 sure how to do this, check with your software vendor.
If the issue goes away after you disable the software security product, this confirms it was causing the issue.
In the interim, you may want to turn it back on, but be sure to follow up with your software vendor for further assistance.
TURN OFF BROWSER PLUG-INS
Disabling Internet Explorer 6.0 add-ons:
1. Close out of all instances of the Internet Explorer browser.
2. Select "Start", "Settings", then click "Control Panel".
3. Double-click on "Internet Options".
4. Select the "Advanced" tab.
5. Under "Browsing", remove the "Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)" check box.
6. Relaunch the Internet Explorer browser.
Disabling FireFox 1.0.x and 1.5 extension plug-ins:
1. From the "Tools" menu, select "Extensions".
2. Disable or uninstall extensions found here.
4. Click the "OK" button.
5. Close out and relaunch your browser.
To reinstall FireFox plug-ins, download it from here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/?application=...
Disable Safari 2.x plug-ins:
1. From the "Safari" menu, select "Preferences".
2. Click the "Security" tab.
3. Uncheck "Enable Plug-Ins".
4. Click the "OK" button.
5. Close out and relaunch your browser.
Try duplicating the issue again. If you are able to access your account and use the functions you couldn鈥檛 before, this confirms that an add-on or plug-in in your browser is causing the issue.
To re-enable the browser add-ons or plug-ins, just repeat the steps listed above.
Once you know the cause, contact the vendor of the add-on or plug-in.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ADMINISTRATIVE ACCESS
Not all computer logins are equal. If you are not granted proper computer privileges, you will not be able to accomplish something functions. For this reason, you want to make sure you have full access. If you鈥檙e not sure what access you have, ask your computer vendor or help desk for assistance.
CHANGE FROM RICH TEXT (COLORS %26amp; GRAPHICS) TO PLAIN TEXT
If you are unable to resolve the issue using the steps above and you are certain you have completed everything in good faith, try switching to plain-text compose mode as a workaround:
1. Sign in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
2. Click the "Options" link.
3. Click the "General Preferences" link.
4. Locate the "Composing E-mails" section, and select "Compose messages as plain text".
5. Click the "Save" button.
TRY ANOTHER COMPUTER USING A DIFFERENT INTERNET SERVICE
Try a completely different computer and a different internet service provider to help determine if the issue is specific to the computer where you first experienced the issue. If it is computer or internet service specific, this will at least give you something to work with.
Reply:I'm having the same problem. None of the buttons are working. This is so frustrating. It has happened to me before, so I figured out a way around it. Then, I decided to re-download Yahoo, and it fixed the problem. But, this time I can't find the 'download Yahoo!' link. Please help. All my friends are waiting to hear from me.
Thank You,
Barb
Reply:That happened to me when I tried to compose in graphics and color text. I couldn't figure it out til I remembered downloading that new photo beta thing in Yahoo. All I could compose in was plain text. I uninstalled that photo thing and now all my email works perfect. Hope this helps.
