When I go to compose email, my cursor (paragraphs) start in the middle of page. I can't change it?

I click on the top left of window to get the cursor up where it should be and (ah sometimes it stays and sometimes not), my recipients have mentioned that they have to scroll down to middle of page to read email.


Also, I am unable to delete any text above where the cursor begins (in the middle of the page).
