I have a 16GB first generation ipod touch and I'm wanting to know if you can view or send emails in widescreen mode, similar to the google searches in safari when you rotate the window. Is this even possible? If so, is there something special I need to do to get this going?

Try turning your iTouch sideways. If it doesn鈥檛 work, Apple has probably forgotten to put this functionality into the Mail app. I鈥檓 sure that they will implement this, eventually.
I am not sure whether Apple has put this function into the mail application.
